Nadine Pinede

Nadine Pinede is a We Need Diverse Books mentee and grantee and the author of an upcoming YA novel in verse and a picture book biography. Her publications include fiction (Haiti Noir), poetry (An Invisible Geography) and nonfiction (Women in Film and Sexism & Race). Nadine earned her literature degree from Harvard (magna cum laude with highest honors) and studied French and English at Oxford on a Rhodes scholarship. She holds a PhD in Education and an MFA in Fiction and Poetry. Nadine is a member of the Haitian Studies Association. She has professional experience working with a Goldman Environmental Prize recipient in Haiti and designed a multi-year summer program on sustainability for Black middle grade students. Nadine is an editor for Enchanted Lion Books and helps curate A Thousand Worlds: Colorful Reads X Colorful People. She lives in Belgium, within sight of a primeval beech forest.
